PORTRAIT PROCEDURE

The portrait painting process begins with an initial conversation to discuss the wishes of the client which include: subjects, pose, clothing, setting and the environment where the painting will be displayed.  My goal in portraiture is to produce a timeless painting that is a work of art in its own right while capturing the likeness and spirit of the subject.

After a deposit is received a photo session is scheduled.  At this session many photographs are taken and reviewed.  Some portraits may be a composite of multiple photos.  Additional short sessions may be required. The portait will be completed in my studio.  Completion time varies but is usually 3 to 6 months from clients approval of the composition.

Each additional subject adds 75% of the single portrait price.  Complex background and the addition of pets are quoted separately.  A 50% deposit is due when terms of the portrait are agreed upon.  The balance is due upon completion and client's approval. At this time the client has seven days to review work and request minor changes in agreement with the artist.

Additional expenses incurred such as framing, travel, lodging, shipping and sales tax (if applicable) will be billed separately.
